Walt Disney World In Center of Hurricane Ian’s Forecasted Path

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

As forecasts continue to change, Walt Disney World is now in the center of Hurricane Ian’s path as the resort braces for the impact of a storm that meteorologists say will continue to strengthen. Here’s the latest 11am update from the National Hurricane Center.

While the entire cone of uncertainty represents that path that Hurricane Ian could take, the consensus among professionals is that it will impact the west coast of Florida as a strong storm before making its way across the center of the state.

Current projections call for the storm to either pass directly over Walt Disney World property, or a few miles to the west of property, although the exact path is unknown and forecasts will continue to change as more is known about the storm.

Disney World announced initial closures and cancelations yesterday, and we anticipate that the storm’s path will eventually lead to at least a day of closures for the theme parks, although Disney has not made any public statement about that.
