VIDEO: TRON Lightcycle Run Testing With Full Show Sound Effects

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

Yesterday, we shared some photos of human riders on the TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster at Magic Kingdom. This was the first time that we’ve seen human riders on the attraction as Disney works towards an unannounced opening date. The milestone of human riders is a significant one, but there was also a smaller milestone during the testing as well – show sound effects. Up until yesterday, we’ve only ever seen TRON Lightcycle Run testing without sounds – just the quiet hum of a roller coaster that launches at 60MPH. Now, we not only have spotted human riders but also captured some video where we can faintly hear the show sound effects have been turned on as well.

As the ride vehicle reaches the highest point of the outdoor u-turn, we can hear a low roar as the vehicle coasts into the turn before revving into the uphill portion that leads into the show building where the majority of the ride takes place. Here’s our video of the testing, which also includes some human riders.

Disney has not announced an opening date for TRON Lightcycle Run yet, but we anticipate hearing more about the project from Disney Parks chief Josh D’Amaro at the D23 Expo in September.
