Updated Forecast Shifts Tropical Storm Ian West

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

A 5pm update from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) has shifted the centerline of Tropical Storm Ian’s forecasted path further west than recent forecasts. The cone of uncertainty still covers the majority of Florida, including the Walt Disney World area, but a western shift is likely preliminary good news for Walt Disney World. It is still too early to know the exact path of the storm, according to the NHC, and they still advise that residents continue to monitor the storm closely.

Here’s a comparison of the forecast from 24 hours ago.

Critically, it is still important to note that the National Hurricane Center is still forecasting a possibility of tropical storm force winds for all of Florida sometime next week.

Disney World has not issued any statements or modifications to operations for Tropical Storm Ian.

We will continue to monitor the storm and update if Walt Disney World makes a statement.
