Unprecedented Lightning Lane Availability for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

Rise of the Resistance just did something that we thought might be impossible. Yesterday, Individual Lightning Lane purchases were available for Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the entire day. This is unprecedented and perhaps highlights just how low crowds are at Walt Disney World right now. To find a weekly average wait time as low as this past week, we’d have to go back to October 2021, according to data from thrill-data.com.

Back to yesterday. As you can see in our screenshots below, and subsequent graphs, Individual Lightning Lane selections were available until 8:30pm, which is when Genie+ selections ended for the day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Here’s a look at a graph from thrill-data showing just how unprecedented yesterday was. This graph shows Individual Lightning Lane availability for Rise of the Resistance for the past 30 days. As you can see, Individual Lightning Lane typically sells out before 9am (or shortly thereafter).

In this single-day graph, we can see that Individual Lightning Lane selections were available for Rise of the Resistance later in the day than Tower of Terror and Slinky Dog Dash. In total, the graph really shows just how slow of a day it was at Disney’s Hollywood Studios yesterday.

While we don’t think that this is indicative of a trend where Rise of the Resistance Lightning Lane availability becomes easy to get, it’s something to keep an eye on.
