Tropical Depression Nine May Arrive in Florida as a Hurricane Next Week

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

A relatively quiet year for Florida so far might see some tropical activity next week as Tropical Depression Nine has formed south of the Dominican Republic. The 5-day forecast currently has Florida in the middle of the cone of uncertainty, so if you have a vacation next week, it’s time to keep an eye on this storm. The cone of uncertainty is just that – uncertain. Tropical Storms and Hurricanes can and do change direction and while forecasters do their best to provide an early heads up via these cones of uncertainty, it is still a forecast.

The forecast currently calls for Tropical Depression Nine to strengthen into a Hurricane before making landfall in Florida sometime on Wednesday. The effects of the storm may be felt as soon as Tuesday, according to current forecasts. We will continue to keep an eye on Tropical Depression Nine and any impact it might have to Walt Disney World operations.
