Tree of Life Awakenings Showtimes End This Weekend at Animal Kingdom

It’s your last chance to watch the Tree of Life Awakenings projection shows for some time before they are removed from the schedule this Sunday. This Sunday, March 12th, is Daylight Saving Time, which means not only will you lose an hour of sleep, but Animal Kingdom will lose the Tree of Life Awakenings show. The nightly projection show has no showtimes beginning Sunday, March 12th. It’s unknown when showtimes will resume. Last year, Tree of Life Awakenings didn’t play all summer and resumed in October, but not even on a nightly basis until November.

This also serves as a reminder that Disney’s Animal Kingdom needs to stay open later. The theme park, which went through a massive undertaking to appeal more to guests at nighttime, has basically been given up on by Disney. Pandora – The World of Avatar is breathtaking at night, but the park barely stays open late enough for guests to get a glimpse of the magic. The Rivers of Light nighttime spectacular has been canceled, and now, guests won’t even be able to see the Tree of Life Awakenings. The removal of the Tree of Life Awakenings shows also means that Saturday will be your last chance to see the Beacon of Magic show on the Tree of Life before the 50th Anniversary ends on March 31st.

Beacon of Magic

While not a full Tree of Life “awakening”, the Beacon of Magic is a shorter show that plays throughout the night to celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
