Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. Closure Extended Indefinitely at Magic Kingdom

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

The Space Mountain gift shop no longer has a reopening date on Disney’s internal calendar. The Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. closed in August as Disney’s work surrounding the TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster expanded to the gift shop. The shop was originally announced to reopen on November 6, 2022, but it remained closed. A new reopening date of December 11, 2022 was then identified, but now it looks like Disney will miss that reopening date as well.

A recent update to Disney’s internal refurbishment calendar now has the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. closed indefinitely with no official reopening date.

Work on the exterior of the space includes some new pathway theming, but sources indicate that the interior of the shop is still down to the studs. Disney’s in no real rush to reopen the space as the TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster is being built at the speed of marketing and will open in Spring 2023 as a final 50th Anniversary push. The attraction could’ve been completed by now, but Disney is in no hurry to open it during the holiday season when attendance will be strong regardless.
