Popular Banyan Tree Relocated at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

As part of the ongoing work to prepare for construction of a Disney Vacation Club tower, a popular banyan tree has been preserved and relocated within the construction site.

In this wide photo from October, we can see the banyan out in the middle of the construction site.

Now, we can see that it has been relocated and sits very close to the Aotearoa building.

Crews were working on the base of the tree as we passed by.

Here’s a look across the construction site from near the Grand Floridian Wedding Pavilion, looking back toward the banyan tree.

The Polynesian Village Resort Disney Vacation Club tower is expected to open in late 2024.
