Parking Lot Trams Still Haven’t Returned to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

It took more than 16 months for parking lot trams to return to service at Magic Kingdom in December 2021 following the July 2020 reopening of the Walt Disney World theme parks, but some Disney theme parks are still waiting for parking lot trams to return. Both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios have now been open and without parking lot tram service for an astonishing 24+ months. Disney promised the return of parking lot tram service to all four Walt Disney World theme parks in 2022, and so far has only brought back service to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in May 2022.

Parking lot trams were removed from EPCOT this summer where they were parked and not in use and relocated to Magic Kingdom where they currently sit alongside trams for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney has not announced a return for parking lot tram service to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios at this time but will have a busy couple of weeks if they want to accomplish a rumored “return to normal” initiative by an October 1, 2022 deadline. The lack of parking lot tram service at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios either represents a continued hiring struggle for Walt Disney World or continued cost savings, depending on who you ask.
