Orange County Florida Issues “Stay at Home” Order Through April 9th; Disney Remains Silent

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

Orange County Florida has issued a shelter-in-place order to residents that begins March 26th and extends through April 9th. The order will take effect at 11pm on March 26th and basically prohibits non-essential activities as government officials attempt to take action to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Of course, that means that Walt Disney World will not open before the shelter-in-place order is lifted, but Disney has remained silent on the matter so far. Logic would dictate that Disney will extend their closure beyond the announced March 31st date, but there has been no announcement as of publish time.

Universal Orlando wasted no time and announced an extension of the closure of their domestic theme parks through April 19th. We applaud Universal Orlando and Comcast for their prompt response and announcement, not only to help their guests plan, but their Team Members as well.

As always, keep checking back with us here at for the latest Disney Parks news and photos. We’ll continue to bring you news and photos, where possible, through the Disney Parks closure due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will resume our normal coverage once the parks reopen to guests, whenever that may be!

That's all folks!
