New Structure Goes Vertical on Future World West Pathway at Epcot

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

A new structure has just gone vertical on the Future World west pathway that connects the Imagination Pavilion area to World Showcase. As we saw last week, the pathway widening project already underway is making good progress and has to be completed by August 29th – the start of the 2019 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. What’s interesting about this project is that it’s actually three projects in one. First, the pathway widening should not only help with the increasing crowd levels once Food and Wine opens as well as when even more of Future World becomes a giant construction site this fall. Second, there is the installation of the Food and Wine festival booths that we’ve seen in years past and are now Future World staples. Third, and most recently, is the construction of this unknown, but seemingly permanent structure.

We’ll start with a photo we posted during our Future World construction update where we take a look at the construction as a whole from on the monorail. It’s hard to see from here, but the location of the new vertical construction will be all the way at the opposite side of the construction site, back where the yellow bulldozer is. The rest of our photo update will come from the World Showcase pathway much closer to the work.

Here’s a wide angle of the construction area, opposite the photo from the monorail above. The concrete block structure can be seen in the middle of the photo below.

A closer look at the work. It’s interesting because we’re seeing a seemingly more permanent structure being constructed here where it will be surrounded by temporary Food and Wine Festival kiosks. Disney hasn’t commented on what this structure will be when it is completed. It’s likely that it will be completed in the next few weeks though, with the start of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival set for August 29th.

Nearby, we can see some more decorative pathway work where another kiosk could be located.

As always, keep checking back with us here at as we continue to cover this construction and much more from around the Disney Parks!
