NEW DreamWorks Animation Land Announced for Universal Orlando Resort

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Orlando Informer for the original post...

Something new is brewing at Universal Studios Florida for 2024! Immerse yourself in a land based on beloved DreamWorks Animation films that will feature play areas and attractions themed after fan-favorite franchises like Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and Trolls. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet with beloved characters like Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse. This new area is the replacement for the Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone attractions that closed earlier this year.

This isn’t the first time these characters have made their presence known in the Universal Orlando Resort theme parks. Characters like Po from Kung Fu Panda, Princess Poppy from Trolls, Shrek and Donkey from Shrek, and many more have created memories with guests during meet and greets throughout the years. Shrek had its own dedicated attraction, Shrek 4D, a short film with 4D effects like moving seats, water, air, and lighting effects. This attraction closed in 2022 to make way for Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast

News on a new land has come up the midst of a flurry of innovative and world-class experiences arriving at Universal Orlando Resort. Earlier this week, Illuminations Villain-Con Minion Blast soft opened for guests in Universal Studios Florida. Nearby, construction continues for an entirely new theme park in the Universal Orlando Resort family – Epic Universe

Stay tuned as we unveil the layers of this land over the coming months.
