We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...
Following the removal of the Harmonious hardware and infrastructure, crews appear to be building an extension to the existing electrical vault in the middle of the World Showcase Lagoon at EPCOT. While visiting today, we noticed a large crane holding what appeared to be a steel platform (or, at least, the skeleton of one) near the existing electrical vault that has been installed in the middle of World Showcase Lagoon for decades. The installation of the platform might be related to a new EPCOT nighttime spectacular that will celebrate Disney100 and debut later this year.
Guests will be treated to the debut of an all-new EPCOT nighttime spectacular later this year. A dazzling display of music, pyrotechnics, lasers and lighting, the show will feature an original composition and evocative selections from the Disney songbook – all woven together to remind us that we are more alike than different.
Here’s a look at the work that was taking place during our visit to EPCOT earlier today.
As we start to work our way around World Showcase Lagoon in a counterclockwise fashion, we can start to see the platform come into view a bit. The existing electrical vault can be seen on the right in the photo below.
Here’s a closer look at the steel platform that was being held by the crane.
Another wide view of the platform in the middle left of the photo below, and the existing electrical vault on the right.
From this side view, we can see that the platform appeared to be slightly taller than the existing electrical vault, but that work is far from complete.
