New Construction Underway at Entrance to Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana in EPCOT

New construction is underway at the Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana construction site in the form of pavement work. While visiting EPCOT today, we noticed that new pavement cuts are underway on the guest side of the construction walls as crews are likely to refresh the pavement to match the World Celebration bypass nearby. Here’s a look at the work on the never-ending Journey of Water project.

The walkway to the right in the photo below is the World Celebration bypass that opened back in March.

Disney World has announced that they plan to open Journey of Water this fall, following the conclusion of the oppressively hot summer season.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana is a self-guided outdoor trail where you can play and interact with water as it travels from the sky to the oceans and back again. Along the way, guests will learn about the importance of water and discover its playful personality—just as Moana did on her heroic voyage.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana is located within World Nature, which is an EPCOT neighborhood dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty and balance of the natural world. Other attractions located in World Nature include The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Soarin’ Around the World, and Living with the Land.

Journey of Water is scheduled to open this Fall at EPCOT, with an exact opening date anticipated to be announced soon. Journey of Water is just one of the enhancements coming to the central spine of EPCOT, which also includes Dreamers Point and CommuniCore Hall.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana will walk guests through the water cycle (pictured below), showcasing water in its various forms.
