Today is not only the 25th Anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but also the first day of the Discovery Island Moana meet & greet. Guests can find Moana in Character Landing, which is just before you cross the DinoLand USA bridge from Discovery Island. A small sign denotes the entrance, but a long line will likely be your first clue that you’re in the right spot. On the debut day, Cast Members are quoting 3-hour wait times to meet Moana. The meet and greet started at 10am today and it will run through 4:30pm. Here’s a look!
The met and greet takes over the space where Pocahontas met years ago. While the actual meet and greet space is covered, the queue is uncovered, but mostly shady.

Back in September 2022, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro presented a Blue Sky concept for a Moana-themed attraction to take over the DinoLand USA area. While no additional announcements for this project have been made, it’s possible that we’ll learn more later this year when Destination D23 takes place at Walt Disney World.
