Magic Kingdom to Open Earlier Than Normal on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Dates

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

With the latest park hours update to the Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney has also revealed that they will open Magic Kingdom earlier than normal on dates when Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party shuts down the park early. This change only applies to the first five party dates so far, but it would make sense for Disney to continue the trend through the end of October.

Magic Kingdom normally opens to all guests at 9am, and resort guests are able to start riding select attractions starting at 8:30am. However, on select dates (so far), Magic Kingdom will open to all guests at 8am and to resort guests at 7:30am. Here’s a look at the dates:

  • August 12, 16, 19, 23, 26: Park hours from 8am to 6pm

Magic Kingdom does close at 6pm to guests without a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket on event nights, and Disney Enchantment will not be shown on dates where the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place.

Crowds are typically lower on dates when Not-So-Scary is happening due to the shorter park hours. An extra hour in the morning should give guests willing to get up early a good opportunity to experience some lower wait times.
