Latest Look at Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. Facade Modifications at Magic Kingdom

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

With the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop now closed at Magic Kingdom, we wanted to take a look at the latest work taking place on the facade as crews prepare this corner of Tomorrowland for the arrival of TRON Lightcycle Run! Here’s an elevated look thanks to the Tomorrowland PeopleMover.

We’ll start with a nearly straight-on view and a look at what will be the main walkway back to TRON Lightcycle Run. If there was any chance that TRON would open with a pure standby queue, this would be concerning, but with a Virtual Queue being a near certainty, Disney will get away with not widening the walkway here.

As we continue around the building, we can see that there is still quite a bit of work to be done after taking down some decorative elements.

It’s the back of the building that is receiving the most attention right now. More of the facade has been removed, and we can see some new facade taking shape for what will likely be a new entrance.

Disney has not said when the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop will reopen. An opening date for TRON Lightcycle Run has not been announced, but will likely be announced at D23.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news, photos, and info from around the Disney Parks!
