Facade Reinforcement & Heavy Power Tools Heard for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Queue Construction at Magic Kingdom

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

While visiting Magic Kingdom earlier today, we decided to stop by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to check out the latest construction taking place to leave Splash Mountain in the past and to bring the Southern Dome Salt Company to Magic Kingdom.

First, here’s a wider shot of the mountain, which mainly features scaffolding and some blue mesh tarp, which likely functions as a sort of fall protection.

Looking beyond the scaffolding, we can see what we thought was going to be a large facade cut is actually an area of the facade that crews have decided needs to be reinforced. Here’s a closer look at the area, which is to the side of the main drop.

Here’s a quick look at the splashdown u-turn. Nothing of significance here as work continues in the tunnel and runout area.

While we can see some of the work taking place on the facade, guests riding the Walt Disney World Railroad can hear quick a bit of work taking place within the queue. Heavy power tools can be heard behind scrims in a portion of the queue just before guests entered the caves toward the load area.

Tarps are still up as crews work to transform the queue.
