Example Prices Released for New Park-Specific Disney Genie+ Pricing Structure

Following the announcement by Disney World that there would be a new park-specific pricing structure for the Disney Genie+ skip-the-line product, we now have a look at some examples of how the pricing structure will work (via Scott Gustin):

Genie+ Park-Specific Pricing (June 27th)

  • Multiple parks: $27
  • Magic Kingdom only: $27
  • EPCOT only: $18
  • Hollywood Studios only: $24
  • Animal Kingdom only: $16

Here’s how that breaks down in terms of a “discount” percentage for each park. Essentially, this is the percentage discount that Disney World is applying to the “value” of the Disney Genie+ service in each park:

  • Magic Kingdom: 0% discount (same as park hopper/multiple parks)
  • EPCOT: 33% discount
  • Hollywood Studios: 11% discount
  • Animal Kingdom: 41% discount

We’ll have more thoughts to share on how this works and we’ll test the perceived “value” of park-specific pricing this summer to try an extract if this is a good change or a bad change. Like anything, pricing is paramount to value, so while our initial reaction is that pricing is still too high, even with the deep discounts, there might be some upside to this change for the average guest.
