Disney World Asks Guests If They Prefer Virtual Queue System or Standby Lines

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

If you have visited EPCOT since Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opened, you may have received a survey asking you how you’d prefer to experience the attraction. As a reminder, Cosmic Rewind is currently operating with a Virtual Queue system in place. This means that guests can only experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind by signing up for a free spot in a Virtual Queue via the My Disney Experience app – guests can not join a standby line. The Virtual Queue system was widely used starting with Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in December 2019, and then expanded to other popular attractions like Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. The idea behind a Virtual Queue is that Disney will be able to save you a spot in line and then call you back to an attraction when it is your time to ride with a minimal wait time. Now, Disney is asking guests if they like that system or if they’d rather wait in line. Let’s take a look at a survey we recently received.

Questions about the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Virtual Queue started by asking how you tried to interact with the Virtual Queue system.

Disney then asked what you didn’t know about the Virtual Queue. Interestingly, they mostly listed things that could be perceived as negatives or drawbacks of the Virtual Queue system.

Then they asked the big question. Essentially, they asked if you liked the Virtual Queue system. The question was posed with the example of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, but it was asked in a way that really was getting at the heart of the matter – do guests like the Virtual Queue system?
