Disney Executives Arrive at Disney World for Global Retreat

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Blog Mickey for the original post...

Top executives from The Walt Disney Company will be in Walt Disney World this week for their typical global retreat. Executives present will be Disney CEO Bob Chapek, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro, and other high-level executives, according to wdwmagic.

Typically during these types of retreats, executives will talk about the future of the company, and tour property as they prepare for upcoming projects and take a look at recently completed projects as well. In the past, retreats have also included high-level investors, but it’s unclear if they are part of this specific retreat or not.

While the details of the retreat typically remain close to the vest, it’s likely that EPCOT will be on the docket with the World Celebration area set to be completed in just over a year. Recently, the CommuniCore Hall structure has taken shape as work finally seems to be moving in a positive direction after the Festival Center was budget cut.

Other likely destinations would be DinoLand USA at Disney’s Animal Kingdom after D’Amaro presented concept art for a Moana/Zootopia retheme of the area.

A little further off in the distance, and possibly too far off to be included in the retreat, is the “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain” project that will see Magic Kingdom expanded to include lands and attractions based on Coco, Encanto, and Disney Villains.
