Disney CEO Bob Iger Shares Updates on Journey of Water at EPCOT and New Moana Live-Action Film

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Disney Parks for the original post...

Today, Disney held its 2023 Annual Shareholders Meeting where CEO Bob Iger shared some exciting updates surrounding Moana and the transformation at EPCOT. Let’s take a look at some of the fun things we have in store this year coming to EPCOT.

During the meeting, Bob highlighted many of parks and resorts newest attractions, with a nod to the future, including one exciting announcement about Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, at EPCOT. The new attraction will give guests the opportunity to playfully interact with water, just as its inspiration, Moana did.  A live-action “Moana” film is in development from Walt Disney Studios, with Dwayne Johnson reprising his role of Maui. We are so excited to continue sharing this beloved story. With new experiences in World Nature, World Discovery and World Showcase neighborhoods of EPCOT, and great progress being made in World Celebration, we are excited to be one step closer to the completion of our multi-year transformation of EPCOT.

As we celebrate our 100th anniversary this year, we are so proud of Disney’s legacy, and the connection our fans around the world have with our brand. It’s something we never take for granted, and it gives us even greater drive to continue creating, innovating and storytelling for years to come.

That's all folks!
