Dine and Ride: Halloween Horror Nights

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Universal Orlando for the original post...

The weather: damp. The fog: abundant. The scares: aplenty. But why were we really at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights? THE FOOD.

Today marks the launch of Discover Universal’s latest series, Dine and Ride! We’re kicking it off with a dive right into spooky season for a night of tricks and treats — heavy on the treats. Armed with our video team and empty stomachs, hosts Nadia and Brandy ventured into Universal Studios Florida in search of the best the event has to offer.

As a content producer, I’m lucky enough to be on set for some pretty fun video shoots. But I have to say, this one was special. There’s just something about the atmosphere at Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) that brings out an electric energy in the whole cast and crew. It could be the lights, it could be the excitement of the surrounding crowds. It’s definitely the fact that even your name badge doesn’t protect you from roaming chainsaw-wielders. Everything combines to create the perfect recipe for spontaneity in an unscripted show.

And speaking of recipes…

WHAT’S ON THE MENU?

From sampling HHN classics to taking a trip through a very suspicious-looking meat market, Nadia and Brandy had their work cut out for them. (Pun intended.) We even tried to settle an age-old debate: savory or sweet?

Here is everything you’ll see them review:

  • Twisted Tater Blood N’ Guts
  • Twisted Tater with Garlic Parmesan
  • Mummy Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Ball
  • Knife Cake
  • Spoiled Angry Bear Meat
  • Fried Zombie Brains
  • 100% Fresh Ground Princess
  • Spiked Boba Peach Lemonade
  • Burning Skull with Mangonada Popsicle
  • Tamale de Los Muertos
  • Roasted Sweet Potato and Mushroom Street Tacos
  • Pizza Fries
  • S’mores Fries

To be honest, we barely had time to scratch the surface of the goodies available this year, so be sure to cross-reference our list of top favorites before you visit. And remember… the menu changes every year! I can’t wait to see what twisted creations are available in the future.
