Descendants of Destruction Announced for Halloween Horror Nights 2022

We want you to get the most out of your ‘luxury villa’ stay in Solterra, Davenport (near Championsgate and just south of the Disney World Resort area). To help out, we have sourced the following blog post to keep you up to date with news from Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks to the guys over at Orlando Informer for the original post...

Universal Studios has revealed the next title in their lineup of houses for this fall at Halloween Horror Nights 2022. Descendants of Destruction.

Careful not to leave any of your scream squad behind as you descend the subway tunnels of a deserted New York. Lurking in the dark are hungry mutants looking to feast on the last remnants of humanity.

The concept is simple: it’s the end of the world, and people have been forced to move into subway tunnels and adapt to subterranean life. The maze is perhaps a sequel to Seeds of Extinction, a house featured at Halloween Horror Nights 2018. That house establishes the lore that makes this one possible: in the apocalyptic future, a meteor has annihilated natural life on earth and has introduced a deadly and aggressive mutating spore.

The plants have taken over everything, vines that strangle and tangle and blooms that prey on what little live food can be found. In this iteration of the storyline, glowing mushrooms are releasing spores that make people go a little bit crazy – and how could you not, in this situation?

The original house featured human-centric scenes that had been quickly overtaken by nature. For example, guests walked through a mall, a daycare, and a bank – all places very “unnatural” but ultimately required for everyday life. However, once humanity was wiped out, the plants took over, and these places we thought we knew were enveloped by nature quicker than we’d like to think about.

Glow-in-the-dark elements are always a hit at Halloween Horror Nights (think Asylum in Wonderland 3D from 2015 or even Beetlejuice in recent years). We can’t wait to see what this house has in store for us!

Halloween Horror Nights 2022 runs on select nights from September 2 to October 31, 2022. Learn everything you need to know about HHN tickets here.
