DeSantis’ Disney Oversight District To Establish Whistleblower Policy at Next Meeting

According to a public notice, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board of Supervisors will have its next meeting on June 21st at 9:30am. During the meeting, the Board of Supervisors, who have been hand-picked by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, will introduce a new resolution that seeks to establish a whistleblower policy for District employees. The text of the resolution was not available as of publish time and a full agenda for the meeting was not posted.

It is likely that newly appointed Board Member Charbel Barakat will be in attendance after Michael Sasso stepped down and wasn’t in attendance at the June 1st meeting.

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District is currently suing Disney in state court, while simultaneously being sued by Disney in federal court.

The state-level case currently has a hearing date set for July 14th and the federal case was just assigned to a new judge.
