Construction Underway in World Showcase Near Former Starbucks Location at EPCOT

For more than a year, the former Traveler’s Cafe temporary Starbucks location has sat vacant. Recently, low construction walls have appeared in World Showcase near the former Starbucks location and Refreshment Port. At first, it looked like Disney was simply working on a bit of fireworks infrastructure in the area, but there has also been some recent movement at the vacant kiosk too. Here’s a look!

Work behind the walls has been focused on this speaker pole, but there are new signs (or lack of a sign) that work is not solely for the fireworks infrastructure.

The Starbucks sign, which has been behind a tarp until recently, has been removed.

A menu board support has also been removed from the kiosk, which is currently being utilized as a Flower and Garden standing-room-only eating location.

Another Starbucks sign on the front of the building remains installed as of today, but it could be removed soon.

Disney World has not announced plans for the area, and the removal of signs and a menu board support could simply just be overdue, but perhaps there is something in the works for this area as EPCOT looks to wrap up its construction era this year.
